The Nature Preserve at Shaker Village actively manages, protects and shares 3,000 acres of original Shaker countryside covered by restored native prairies, woodlands, fields, canebreaks, shear cliffs and diverse plants and wildlife – all perfectly framed by miles of hand-laid rock walls.

The Nature Preserve has partnered with private and governmental agencies to create a long-term land stewardship model that balances conservation and agricultural best practices to promote recreational use of the property.

Trail System
The best way to explore The Nature Preserve is through our 40-mile trail system. Thirteen multi-use trails offer a broad range of distances and skill requirements for walkers, hikers, bikers, horseback riders, carriage drivers and nature and wildlife enthusiasts of all kinds.
