Harrodsburg, Kentucky – Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill proudly announces the arrival of FOUR sets of twin goats.
The eight kids, who share the same father, were born within about two weeks of each other at the historic farm on the property. The first two sets arrived on May 30, 2009.
“This is quite rare. I’ve never experienced this many sets of twins before,” said Billy Pruitt, Historic Farm Interpreter. “Since the twins’ arrival, we’ve had three times as many people come to the farm. Everybody wants to see the baby goats!”
The new additions are adjusting well. Their daily schedule consists of eating, playing, napping, and playing some more – a typical "kid."
“All of the babies have names: Dolly and Molly, Lucy and Ethel, Flopsy and Mopsy, and General Lee and Sarah Lee,” said Billy Jean Geers, Historic Farm Interpreter.
Guests are welcome to come by the farm and get an up close look at the twin goats during regular village hours.
