Harrodsburg, Kentucky – It’s apples and alpacas at Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill. The National Historic Landmark is celebrating Apple Harvest Weekend and National Alpaca Day on September 27-28.
Guests can enjoy autumn’s bounty by participating in hands-on activities with apples. See cider pressing, apple butter-making and apple drying. Visitors can purchase bags and gather their own apples from the Village orchard. Guided tours through the orchard are also available.
While visiting the Village, see and touch alpacas and talk with local alpaca farmers, as National Alpaca Farm Day is September 27. Watch shearing, felting and spinning demonstrations and see unique alpaca products for sale.
Apple Harvest Weekend at Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill is included in regular Village admission: $14 Adults, $7 Ages 12-17, $5 Ages 6-11, free under 6. Village hours are 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
