Join the University of Kentucky's Theatre cast members as they travel to Shaker Village and experience their performance in a setting that inspired Arlene Hutton's play. As It Is In Heaven, a play written by Arlene Hutton, tells the story of nine Shaker sisters and how they responded to changes in their religion in 1838.
The play is set at Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill. They play's nine characters are all women and they are all portrayed by University of Kentucky students. Shaker Village music coordinator, Donna Phillips, will be the music director for the play. As It Is In Heaven will be performed in an open-air barn overlooking the restored Shaker community that inspired its author.
