After presenting composition basics, Pendleton will take students on location to create acrylic paintings using her unique color system. Using Pendleton’s paint storage system, and with guidelines from this experienced teacher, students will learn how to manage this expressive medium while making good decisions to compose better paintings. This workshop includes daily demonstrations, individual instruction and guidance along with individual critique sessions.
Elin Pendleton is a nationally recognized artist whose paintings have won major awards in juried competitions and are represented in galleries across the country. Her brushwork in painting the horse and on Plein Air painting is her trademark. She is a full member of the American Academy of Equine Art and a signature member of the National Acrylic Painters Association and the Women Artists of the West. Pendleton has more than 30 years of painting and teaching experience. She is a published author of acrylic painting instruction with Walter Foster Books and her paintings can be found in Exploring Color and The Creative Artist, by North Light Books. Her lessons are also featured on 5 instructional DVDs on painting.
Rates: Rates include artist instruction, three nights accommodation at The Inn at Shaker Village, nine meals, living history museum tour ticket, evening entertainment, taxes and gratuities.
Enrollment: A non-refundable $200 deposit is required at time of registration. Upon receipt of your deposit, a supply list, travel information and confirmation statement will be sent. Registration and deposit must be received 30 days prior to the workshop’s start date. The remaining balance is due 2 weeks prior to the workshop’s start date.
Cancellations: Deposit is applied to workshop fees and is non-refundable. Workshops are subject to cancellation based on attendance. In case of cancellation, all money will be promptly refunded.
Accommodations & Dining: Lodging buildings have limestone steps and do not have elevators. First floor accommodations are limited. If you require a first floor room, please notify us upon registration. Efforts will be made to accommodate your preferences but we can not guarantee space availability. All dietary requests must be made in writing upon registration. |
